It's a bit of a shame that CS turned out so bad that the mod community basically dropped it not that I know how bad it is yet, I have yet to play more than 15 minutes, but after seeing how much more awesome SoC was with mods vs vanilla, I'm not even going to attempt playing vanilla cs. I'm going to try that immersion mod now, but it does seem rather outdated now. The problem is, I can't seem to find this translation anywhere but on this forum post, and that's the file that is seemingly causing my crash on load issue.Ĭeano's mods also look like a good addition, but they're more like small tweaks than the gameplay changes I'm looking for.
However, I'm having trouble getting hold of OGSM I can find the russian version here with the patch, but the translation file I have causes a crash every time I install it (and the latest version of OGSM has apparently not been translated yet). The immersion mod in the op sounds pretty good, and other promising ones I heard about are CS Enhanced and Old Good Stalker Mod CS. I just got CS during the steam holiday sale (I'd heard it was bad, but I loved SoC and this was only $5), and I'm looking for something like Oblivion Lost or AMK to use with it. changed a lot of texures in almost any part of the game (maps, inventory, npc.) hud can be completely disabled (triggers cheatmode though) armor and weapons can be fully upgraded allmost every weapon from Arsenal Mod for SoC is available agroprom underground (all areas) can be entered more than once. all areas of stancia2 level have been unlocked and equipped with enemies npc look for better weapons or use their knife if they have to Assault rifles, snipers and shotguns can be placed in pistol slot freeplay after completing the main quest teleporters that take you beyond level restrictions and points of tactical value. more variations in the look of mutants and npc outfits changed startup equipment and quest rewards
more npc in stalkerbase and loner village more than 60 npc in clear sky base for a bar like feeling toolbox for repairing weapons and armor in the field all old mutants like burer, fracture or phantom have been implemented (+ new subcategories) reworked faction wars with much bigger battles new, more compact HUD and an improved inventory And yes all the usual weapon upgrades are still possible. Clear Sky, even with this mod, is pretty hardcore and can be a drag until you get decent armour. Because I guarantee if you play vanilla instead, it'll be WORSE. Play it anyway, Steo, and stop complaining. It's basically there to offset the still hideous accuracy of enemies. It has poor handling, and, whilst accurate, has a large amount of recoil to balance it. You DON'T start with "a really good gun".
